Code of Conduct

This code of conduct applies to any participant of the XCH Foundation – staff, members, invited experts, participants in meetings, teleconferences, mailing lists, conference or functions, forums, online, discussion groups, etc. Note that this code complements rather than replaces legal rights and obligations pertaining to any particular situation.

Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include:

  – Using welcoming and inclusive language
  – Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  – Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  – Focusing on what is best for the community
  – Showing empathy towards other community members

Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:

  – Verbal or written comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to nationality, gender, gender identity and expression, – sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion
  – Sexual images in public spaces
  – Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  – Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  – Public or private harassment
  – Harassing photography or recording
  – Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  – Unwelcome sexual attention
  – Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic address, without explicit permission
  – Sending unsolicited communications, promotions or advertisements, or spam
  – Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
  – Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Enforcement Online
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, moderators retain the right to take any actions to safeguard all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the platform where the harassment occurred.

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Harassment and other code of conduct violations reduce the value of our cooperation for everyone. 

You can make a report either personally or anonymously.

Anonymous Report.  You can make an anonymous report here. We can’t follow up an anonymous report with you directly, but we will fully investigate it and take whatever action is necessary to prevent a recurrence.
